I’m going to report on two games. These are Call Of Duty: Black ops and Halo Reach. These games are totally different to each other. But both are very popular to video gamers.

Black Ops is based on war. All the series has a continuous of the video campaign. In the campaign you are a person that goes through mission to complete different objective and to use different vehicles. The campaign mission length are roughly around 15 minutes long, depending on how long it takes you to complete the missions. The audience of these games is based for adults roughly 18+. But due to popularity of the game younger audience do play the game. The gender of these games is mainly for males but female people do play the game. This game is not all about the campaign it also has a multiplayer and a game type called zombies. These two game types are very popular because it brings in a new side of the game. Especially for zombies.

The halo reach game is like Call of Duty but it not based on real life. It is based of a force called UNSC which has a continues battle with a raging of the Covenant. Who seek out to destroy the UNSC. This game is based for a younger audience ranging from 12+. But due to this game is a series of games. And the first game came out in 2001. You find that a there is a big chunk of older people playing this game. In the game there is a Campaign, which continues all the way through the series. There is a big multiplayer, which is very popular. There is a Firefight and forge mode.

As you can see both of these games are nothing like each other, except from their both on wars. But both of them always compete to get the sales for their game and to get the best popularity. Both of these games are in 1^st person. But with call of duty you can change to a to 3^rd person view in one of the multiplayer game types. Overall I think both of these are the best at there game.

Evaluation of the 4 reviews     2 print 1 video 1 website.

Each review contains sometime of the same elements. They use words that link to the game.

With the video review they speak in the 1^st person. This is because it only one person talking about the game. But with the web review and print review some are in the first but some are not because they may have loads of editors adding their idea to the review. The video review is all video scenes and live action gameplay. This gives a different sense on a review and making the video review very unique.

Each structure of the 4 reviews has different similarities. The print advert and the video review advert contain footage or pictures from the game.  But the web-based review does not. Each review has a different layout with the text and images. The print review has the text all over the page but with the web review the text is going straight down the page.

Each review gives their own opinion either in a first person point of view or the 3^rd person point of review. Each review expresses their opinion in a different way. Such as some of the reviews go into more details on what they are talking about. The audience is addressed in different ways in each of the reviews. Such as each review use different words depending on the age limit of the game.

The reviews are different between each different format.

Such as with the video review you feel more inside the game than just reading the print reviews.

Each review use different colors. Such as with the print review they use colors that come from the images of the game. But with the web review they only use the Color black. Each review comes from one person. Each of review doesn’t ask anyone else what he or she thinks of the game.

Each review gives different respect of each game. Such as with the print review you have to think about what they have said but with the web review you don’t.

Overall I prefer the video review because you get live footage from the game and not get pictures from the game. Also you don’t have to read any words just need to listen to the video.

This review is about LA Noire, which is review IGN. This review is a video review, which is on YouTube. The whole review is video content of the game with has a person talking over the video who is reviewing it. This video review is talked both in 3^rd and 1^st person. This is good because we get the point of review from the reviewer him self. And it brings the watcher into the game. At the beginning of the video you get the logo of the company who is reviewing. Then you get the information on the person who is reviewing the person. In the first few seconds you get a small section of the opening storyline then get the game play. The video reviews are very different from web review and print review. This is because you get the live action from the game than just reading the gameplay from the text. Also with the a web review you can hear what the characters sound like and you can give your self a feel to the game.  With the video reviews you can see for yourself what you think of the game and you think if the reviewer is being harsh with the game. With this video review. They have decided to talk about the whole game at the beginning then give is a score at the end, also with the score they add 2 things they like about the game and 2 things they dislike the game. This review has a time of just less than 5 minutes. This is important so the review doesn’t get to boring and looses the reader’s attention.  I think the video review is much better than the other reviews because you don’t have to think what the gameplay looks like.

On a web page review you can see that the review is mainly text is does not have any pictures to it.

They use black text so the text stands out on the page.

They have black text on a white background.

They have a box on the top right, which indicates what rating they have given the game. This is important because it tells the readers what the person who wrote review felt of it before they start reading it. They give it mark out of the 4 categories. At the bottom of the page they have a comment box. Which the public can comment of how good is the game. This is different to the print advert.

This review is a web-based review.  They have laid out the text in a simple layout so you can easily read the text. Each paragraph they talk about different section of the game. Such as one paragraph they talk about the multiplayer of the game and how good it. This is important because it tells the reader how different the game is when you play the multiplayer. Such as are they a new level of with the game than playing the single player. In another paragraph they talk about what the player can achieve by playing and completing mission. They get XP to by weapons or upgrade the weapons.

This review is talked in a third person and not in the 1^st person. You can tell this by they don’t use word such I. By writing the review in a 3^rd person it bring the reader into the review and the game. They have set out the review in a straight for wood way. So they get to point without dragging you through.  The structure of this review is set with the information down the middle and with the rating on the top right and with the comment box on the bottom.
